Quick listen
Turn on Hover Preview to audition tracks by hovering them in the Canvas or Cover art view. Ora DJ loads each track onto deck A and plays it from its first groove.
Hover Preview lets you preview tracks without clicking. Turn on the Hover Preview switch in the toolbar above the playlist, or press H, then hover a track in the Canvas or Cover art view. After about three quarters of a second it loads onto deck A and plays, with a green ring sweeping around the card while you wait. Move off before the ring finishes and nothing loads.
Playback starts at the track's first groove (the first full-energy section with the bass in), not the intro. If a track has no groove, it plays from the start. See Phrases for how Ora DJ reads a track's sections.
Hover Preview works in the Canvas and Cover art views, not the List view. It is off by default and resets each time you restart.
In Track Prep, H sets a hot cue instead. Use the toolbar switch there.
Groove Match suggestions always audition on hover, whether or not Hover Preview is on.
Set Planning
Lay out a playlist in Ora DJ as a list, a grid of cover art, or a freeform canvas, and audition tracks as you plan.
Groove Match
Groove Match listens to a track and finds others in your own library that sound like it, so you can fill a gap in a set by feel rather than by BPM and key alone.
