Tags

Tags label tracks with your own vocabulary, such as opener, vocal, or peak-time. Organize related tags into groups to keep the sidebar manageable.

Create groups and tags

Open the tags sidebar with T. Use its add-group control to create a group, then the + beside a group to add a tag inside it. Type the name and confirm it.

Use a group or tag's context menu to delete it. Deleting a tag removes that label and its assignments; it does not remove the tracks.

Apply tags to tracks

Select a track, then click a tag in the sidebar to add or remove it. The tag state reflects the track shown at the top of the panel.

Use tags in a set

Use Filtering to find tracks with particular tags, or include tag rules in a dynamic playlist. Groups can follow your own system, such as set position, mood, or instrumentation.

Tags in dynamic playlists

In the dynamic playlist editor, add a Tags condition and open its tag picker. Browse All categories, choose a category, or use Search tags to find a tag by its name or category. Check a tag to select it. The picker stays open so you can choose several.

Each selected tag shows its group name. Use Selected to review the selection, or the × on a chip to remove it. Within a category or search result, Select all adds the visible tags and Deselect all removes them.

Choose is any of to match at least one selected tag, is all of to require every selected tag, or is none of to exclude tracks with those tags.
