Keyboard shortcuts

Every keyboard shortcut in Ora DJ, for playback, navigation, and switching views, plus the shortcut bar along the bottom of the library.

Ora DJ is built to be driven from the keyboard while your hands are off the controller. Press Shortcuts at the bottom of the sidebar, or open Help then Shortcuts, to see the main ones in the app.

Playback

Key	Does
`Space`	Play or pause in 1-Deck Player and Track Prep. In every other view it toggles compact view.
`←` `→`	Jump back or forward 4 bars
`,` `.`	Load the previous or next track
`↑` `↓`	Move up and down the track list

Views and panels

Key	Does
`V`	Cycle deck view
`S`	Show or hide the sidebar
`L`	Show or hide the library sidebar
`T`	Show or hide tags
`I`	Show or hide track info
`F`	Jump to the track search box
`H`	Turn Hover Preview on or off
`R`	Switch row height
`A`	Switch a playlist to cover art view
`Ctrl` + scroll	Zoom the waveforms in and out

Selecting tracks

Key	Does
`⌘` + `A`	Select every track in view
`Shift` + `↑` `↓`	Extend the selection
`Alt` + `↑` `↓`	Jump to the first or last track
`Delete`	Remove the selected tracks from the playlist
`Esc`	Drop back to a single selected track

In Track Prep

Two keys do something different in Track Prep:

Key	Does
`H`	Set a hot cue at the playhead, rather than toggling Hover Preview
`M`	Set a memory cue at the playhead

The shortcut bar

A strip along the bottom of the library lists the shortcuts that apply to the view you're in. It changes as you switch views, and it steps aside while an import or an analysis run is showing its progress.

Closing the shortcut bar with its X is permanent. It stays hidden from then on, including after a restart, and there's no setting to bring it back.

Worth knowing

Shortcuts don't fire while you're typing in a search or a text box.
← and → jump by bars, so they do nothing on a track that hasn't been analyzed yet: there's no beatgrid to count.
, and . are bare keys only, since ⌘ + , opens Settings.
Hover Preview is off every time you start Ora DJ, on purpose.
